My Italy

Hi, my name is Caroline Hornbeck. This has been my first time in Italy. It is very beautiful. My Italy experience is about seeing the ancient ruins I studied about in Latin class and seeing the various works of art I studied about in art history at FIT.
I saw many ancient ruins in Rome. Including the Colosseum, Pantheon, Circus Maximus, and Roman Forum. My favorite out of all that I saw was the Colosseum. It is so big and full of history; without a doubt an epic masterpiece. I went to Fiesole and also saw ancient ruins. Including Roman baths, roman theater, and remnants of Etruscan walls. These ruins were surrounded by beautiful tall trees. Also, my favorite thing about fiesole is that it is on a tall scenic hill.
My Italian experience is also about art. Art is everywhere, on streets, buildings, walls, and ceilings. Specifically, the art which is most poignant is the Sistine Chapel. The frescoed ceiling by Michelangelo are very beautiful. For example, the nine scenes from the book of genesis are inspiring to look at. My visit to Italy was a success. I learned a lot and saw a lot. I cannot wait to return to Italy. Bye!

Ciao, Mi Chiamo Caroline Hayes Hornbeck. Questo e stato mia prima volta in Italia. Italia e molto bello. La mia esperienza di Italia e vedevo rovine antiche che io ho studiato di in classe Latina e vedevo i vari lavori di arte che io ho studiato qua in storia di arte a FIT.
Ho veduto molte rovine antiche in Roma. Incluso il Colosseo, pantheon, Circo Maximus, e foro romano. Mia favorita fuori di tutto che io ho veduto il Colosseo. È così grande e pieno di storia; senz altro un epico capolavoro. Sono Andata Fiesole e anche veduto rovine antiche. Incluso bagni romani, teatro di romano, e resti di muri etruschi. Queste rovine furono circondate dai begli alberi alti. Anche, la Mia cosa favorita su fiesole è che è su una collina scenica ed alta. La mia esperienza italiana è anche su arte. L'Art è dappertutto, su strade, edifici, muri, e soffitti. Specificamente, l'arte che è molto importantissima è la Cappella Sistine. Per esempio, le nove scene dal libro di genesi stanno imponente guardare a.
La mia visita ad Italia era un successo. Io imparai molto e vidi molto. Non può aspettare ritornare ad Italia. Ciao Ciao.

Il supermercato in Firenze e lo slighty diverso dai supermercati in America.

The Supermarket in Florence next to our hotel is slighty different from the supermarkets in America. Why? Well, they sell wine along with the food and the food is fresher. Also, you weigh your fruit and veggies yourself and then bring it to the checkout line. A sorta self-service fruit stand in the supermarket. You pick from pictures of fruits and veggies on the screen and it weighs it for you. In the States, you usually do this at the checkout line...so I had bananas in my hand and was told I had to go back and weigh them.....Now I know for next time..!

Molto Bene arrivare in Firenze dopo o sonno la gita de NYC a Roma a Firenze. L'hotel era pulito e confortevole noi quando arrivato. Dopo che un viaggio lungo che eravamo molto affamato e ha mangiato al ristorante di pirata vicino. Ho mangiato una pizza di prosciutto, il mio favorito, ed era molto buono.

To arrive in Florence was so good after a tired trip from NYC to Rome to Florence. Our hotel (hostel) was clean and comfortable when we arrived. After a tired trip, I was very hungry and we ate at the pirate restaurant. I ate the prosciutto pizza, my favorite, and it was very good.
